Calcium iodate is an oxidant added to lotions and ointments as an antiseptic and deodorant. It is used in agriculture as a stable form of iodine in animal feed to correct iodine deficiency and prevent various animal diseases, in food industry for iodisation of table salt and in pharmaceuticals it is used for the manufacture of disinfectants, antiseptics and deodorants. |
